Honne, originating from Australia is another popular variety of wood. It is comparatively heavier than teak. Due to its inherent strength and strong mechanical properties. This is can also be used for furniture making purposes.

• APPLICATION

Honne is preferred after teak for applications like doors, windows etc. However, Honne, when exposed to water releases its inherent natural colour for some duration. Due to this disadvantage, it is not advisable to use this wood in areas with continued exposure to water like bathrooms, etc. Honne one must be careful to ensure that when Honne is used for doors and windows, a good coat of enamel paint must be applied to avoid the above.

For best results, it is recommended to either apply polish or paint to the surface.
